IHME-Festival                                                                                                                       5.-6.4. Old Student House, Music Hall, Helsinki

Saturday 5.4. at 13.00-18.00 and Sunday 6.4. at 14.00-17.00. Old Student House, Music Hall (2nd floor, there is no elevator in the building). (Include breaks) FIN

We all carry within us our own stories, memories, landscapes. We all have our own impressions and dreams of what a good place to live is like. They may appear quite different, but are they really? When we encounter each other, preconceptions are overthrown and we start to seek a road towards a shared, common landscape of possibilities – towards a utopian society.

The approaches used in the workshop, which is aimed at adults include, for example, storytelling, drama exercises and visualization. The workshop is led by community theatre director Annamari Karjalainen, storyteller Markus Luukkonen and award-winning writer Alexandra Salmela.

Tree of Life

TREE OF LIFE
INTERNATIONAL HEALING STORYTELLING SYMPOSIUM

27 July–2 August 2014
at Västra Nylands folkhögskola, Finland

Artist: Maria Sundell

A symposium for everyone interested in storytelling

The Tree Of Life is an old mythical symbol of creative life forces. Where can we find this tree today? We need ways to replenish our energy, strength and inspiration to balance the breathlessly fast information culture that we live in. The art of storytelling offers ways to connect to our own creativity and imagination, to meet and inspire each other and to connect more deeply to the world around us.

At this symposium, some of the world’s best storytellers gather in Finland for the first time to share their expertise of the many possibilities healing storytelling has in the world today.
