Storytelling @ Sompasauna

August 22nd at 7pm
Sompasaaren laituri, Helsinki

Join us in sharing your stories by the open campfire of atmospheric Sompasauna! In accordance with Runokuu´s this year´s theme, the motif of our storytelling session will be roots. Storytellers of Samova ry, Markus Luukkonen and Ilkka Hautala, as well as musician Liila Jokelin will be pacing up the conversations by the fire.

Markus Luukkonen is a storyteller who combines folk lore, myths and personal stories in his performances. Markus tells his stories with a twinkle in his eye & in a down to earth kind of manner.

Ilkka Hautala is a teacher of eloquence (puhetaide) and storyteller, who wants to see the meaning in meaningless and legends as a pocket size property of everyone. Story is a tool, art and determinant of one´s humanity to him.

Singer-songwriter Liila Jokelin believes in a strong story. In Liila´s songs melancholic folk, old hit songs and punk-spirited ecstacy fuse into a tune with a core of raw joy and will to love.

In collaboration with Samova ry, Sompasauna, Runokuu
